Roseville: Central Location, Consistent Service Calls

Roseville sits at the crossroads of the Twin Cities, bordered by Minneapolis to the south and St. Paul to the east. Its central location means I pass through Roseville regularly on my way between calls, and I can often accommodate same-day appointments because I'm already nearby.

The city developed primarily in the 1950s and 60s as a classic post-war suburb. The housing stock is mostly ramblers and split-levels on comfortable lots, with a scattering of newer condos and townhomes near the Rosedale Center and along Larpenteur Avenue. The homes are well-established, the residents are loyal to businesses that serve them well, and I've built relationships with Roseville families that span decades.

The Sears Connection

Roseville was home to a major Sears store that served the north metro for decades before closing. As a result, Roseville and the surrounding neighborhoods have an exceptionally high concentration of Kenmore appliances. When Sears was the go-to appliance destination, Roseville residents had convenient access to the full Kenmore lineup, and they bought accordingly.

Now that Sears is gone, those Kenmore owners need someone who can still service their machines. I cross-reference every Kenmore model to its manufacturer, source factory parts through the correct channel, and repair these machines as well as any Sears technician ever did. If you're a Roseville Kenmore owner feeling orphaned by the Sears closure, I'm your guy.

Post-War Homes with Updated Systems

Most Roseville homes have been updated at least once since their original construction. Electrical panels have been upgraded from the original fuse boxes to modern breaker panels. Plumbing has been partially or fully replaced. Kitchens have been remodeled with modern layouts that accommodate today's larger appliances.

These updates mean that while the homes themselves are 60-70 years old, the infrastructure supporting the appliances is usually adequate. I encounter fewer wiring and plumbing complications in Roseville than in comparable-age homes in St. Paul or Minneapolis, because the suburban tax base allowed more consistent maintenance and modernization over the decades.

Five Kenmore Appliances, One Roseville Kitchen

A Roseville homeowner near Central Park had a kitchen full of Kenmore appliances — all purchased from the Rosedale Sears over a span of about five years. The refrigerator, dishwasher, range, washer, and dryer were all Kenmore-branded machines from different manufacturers underneath the badge.

She called me because the refrigerator was warm and the washer wouldn't spin, both failures happening the same week. The refrigerator was a 106-series (Whirlpool-made) with a failed evaporator fan motor. The washer was a 110-series (also Whirlpool) with a worn motor coupler. Two different appliances, two different problems, but both drawing from my Whirlpool expertise.

I fixed both machines in a single visit — evaporator fan motor in the fridge and coupler in the washer — and did a quick inspection of her other three Kenmore machines while I was there. The dryer needed new rollers (not urgent but getting noisy), which we scheduled for the following week. Having one technician who understands the entire kitchen saves multiple service calls and gives the homeowner a single trusted point of contact.
